Michael Simmons | Managing Director, Partner

Michael Simmons is a Managing Director and Partner at Simmons Investment Advisors. Mike is experienced in building customized portfolios to help meet our clients’ needs. He specializes in sustainable and responsible investing, aligning clients’ personal beliefs with their investments. Mike is also the team’s financial planner and helps clients plan for retirement.

Mike’s approach to investment management and perspective on the markets is informed by a diverse background in various areas of the financial services industry. His experience includes statistical and performance analysis, venture capital and state pension fund management.

After completing his Bachelor of the Arts in History from Tufts University, Mike earned a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Golden Gate University. Mike holds his Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) and his Chartered SRI Counselor™ (CSRIC®) designations, as well as the Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Outside of work, Mike loves to ski and is an amateur beekeeper and astronomer. In fact, he had originally wanted to be an astronomer growing up and worked briefly at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in high school. Mike is active in his community, having recently served on the local school board. He currently sits on the board of Foundation 51, which makes grants to stimulate excellence in the MSAD 51 school district. Mike and his family live in North Yarmouth, Maine.
