Edward Simmons | Partner Emeritus

Edward Simmons is a Partner Emeritus at Simmons Investment Advisors. He is experienced in the creation of income-generating portfolios and family wealth transfer techniques. He also focuses on fixed income investments, analyzing and researching fixed income securities for clients. Ed brings a refined, mature approach to investment advice.

As a former teacher and Headmaster of private secondary schools, Ed takes a holistic approach to providing investment advice and education by focusing on each client’s individual situation. Investment goals, risk tolerance, tax bracket and income needs are considered along with each client’s family situation, philanthropic plans and desire to provide for children and grandchildren.

Prior to HighTower, Ed served as the Senior Financial Consultant and First Vice President at Merrill Lynch.

Ed earned his Doctorate in Education from Harvard, and holds a Master of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of New Hampshire and a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Economics from Wesleyan University. He holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.

Ed is an active athlete, and he currently serves on the board of several non-profit organizations, including Yarmouth Rowing Club and the Natural Resources Council of Maine. He and his wife, Priscilla, live on Cousins Island in Yarmouth, Maine.
